The UC Irvine School of Education seeks applicants for temporary, part-time lecturer position in summer 2021 to teach a course in the Master of Arts in Teaching + Single Subject Credential Program. Generally, part-time lecturer positions are offered for one quarter at a time and at varying percentages of time, depending on the number and nature of courses assigned. This 4-unit course is scheduled for 3 hours twice a week and two sections will be offered.
EDUC 206. Design of Learning Environments for Teachers in Secondary School Subjects
Applying research on conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and socio-cultural theories of learning to pedagogy and curricular design in secondary school subjects. An opportunity for MAT students to think deeply about the components of curricular design in in order to investigate multiple ways of interweaving the attributes of equitable and cognitively rich learning environments.
Service Period Dates for 2020-21:
Summer Quarter: 6/21/21 – 7/26/21
Minimum Qualifications:
A doctoral degree, a record of successful teaching experience, and demonstrated expertise in the content of the course to be taught. Relevant experience may be considered.
Desired Qualifications:
A secondary teaching credential and experience in secondary teaching. Teaching at University level; experienced in digital learning technologies and using Canvas as a learning management system.
Salary: $4,792 (no doctoral degree) – $5,752 (doctoral degree) each 4-unit course
