Lecturer in Mechatronics

We are looking for a passionate Lecturer with a track record of teaching and research in the discipline of Mechatronics. The successful applicant will be expected to develop, teach and convene units at a postgraduate and undergraduate level, while supervising Higher Degree Research students and leading, conducting and collaborating on research projects in the area of Mechatronics, Robotics or Automation Engineering.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strengths for future potential across other research and teaching streams of the School and contribute to the administration, outreach and promotion of the School of Engineering, Faculty of Science and Engineering and the University

The Role

We are looking for an exceptional candidate with strong track records in one or more of the following areas:

  • Mechatronic Design
  • Robotics
  • Automation

The successful candidates will have significant teaching experience in the related areas as above and demonstrated success in delivering high quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate students. The successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the administration, outreach and promotion of the School of Engineering, Faculty of Science and Engineering and the broader University.

Essential

  • A PhD in Mechatronics or a closely related discipline and/or relevant experience
  • Demonstrated commitment and success in delivering high quality and innovative teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Demonstrated teaching experience in the areas of Mechatronic Design, Robotics and Automation.
  • Track record of research publications in international journals and conferences
  • An understanding of scholarly teaching with alternative / flexible learning modes
  • High level of oral and written communication skills in English

Desirable

  • Demonstrated ability to engage with industry and international professional organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to attract research grants and/or industry support
  • Research experience in mechatronics, mechanical design for mechatronic systems, control and embedded systems for robotics and automation and related areas
