The School of Molecular & Cellular Biology in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign seeks an applicant for a teaching position in the discipline of biochemistry at the rank of Instructor or Lecturer.  The position involves teaching a range of courses in the school.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Teach 5 courses, or equivalent, in any Fall, Spring, and Summer cycle.  These may include large courses, multi-section lab courses, and small discussion sections.
  • Supervise TAs for these courses.
  • Devise and deliver assigned courses, maintain and improve current course materials, develop course content as needed.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Biochemistry or related area for Instructor.
  • Ph.D. in Biochemistry or related area for Lecturer.
  • Teaching experience at the college or university level

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience teaching at the college or university level
  • Evidence of instruction that includes student-centered practices
