Lecturer (Above the Bar) in Public Health Nursing, School of Nursing and Midwifery
Permanent Whole-Time Post
 
UCC wishes to appoint to the role of Lectureship in Public Health Nursing. The appointee will be expected to contribute to teaching, assessment and programme development and administration at undergraduate and postgraduate level, as well as engage in relevant research. The successful appointee will hold a professional midwifery qualification, have held or hold a registration (or be eligible to register) in Public Health Nursing with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland. Applicants will be expected to have an academic qualification to Masters level and be registered for or have completed a PhD / Doctorate. Applicants also expected to have considerable community health nursing experience.
 
The School of Nursing and Midwifery was established in 1994 and since then a wide range of programmes have been developed at both undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate levels. In addition, the School has a growing suite of Continuing Professional Development modules supporting life-long learning. Since 2012, the School has actively engaged in international recruitment and now has a growing body of international students. The School now has over 1,300 students and is one of the largest in the University. The School is committed to excellence and leadership in teaching, practice and research involving close collaborative relationships with health service providers, and national and international educators and researchers.   The School holds the Athena Swan Bronze Award and is in the top 30 in QS subject Rankings for Nursing.

Appointment may be made on the Lecturer (Above the Bar) Salary Scale: €78,401 - €101,534 (Scale B) / €74,592 - €96,455 (Scale A).
Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
