The School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences is seeking an accredited Clinical Exercise Physiologist for a Teaching-Focused Associate Lecturer (Level A) or Lecturer (Level B) position. This role provides a unique opportunity to work with world-class mentors, build teaching excellence, and lead impactful course coordination across core subjects in exercise prescription, professional skills, and physical activity for individuals with diverse impairments.
You will take primary responsibility for four key courses within the second- and third-year curriculum and will also help oversee three student-led clinics:
Musculoskeletal Clinic
HMNS Personal Training Service
Motor Active
You will foster strong internal and external collaborations, shape contemporary teaching practices, influence policy, and contribute broadly to the advancement of education in the discipline.
Deliver high-quality teaching across undergraduate and honours courses in clinical exercise physiology and exercise/sport science.
Coordinate and manage four core courses, ensuring accreditation requirements and smooth administrative processes.
Oversee three student-led clinics, with some face-to-face teaching responsibilities.
Apply contemporary, student-centred, evidence-based teaching approaches.
Enhance student engagement, belonging, and academic success.
Conduct ongoing evaluation and improvement of teaching effectiveness.
Contribute to research, especially in teaching scholarship and applied research linked to student-led clinic outcomes.
Seek research funding and support broader research activities in clinical exercise physiology or exercise science.
Publish research outputs and begin to build a national academic profile.
Model UQ values and contribute to community, industry, and government engagement.
Participate in School activities and committees and collaborate proactively with colleagues.
Teach across diverse delivery modes (face-to-face, blended, online) using innovative pedagogies.
Coordinate multiple courses, design curricula and assessments, and provide high-quality student support.
Contribute to program development and ensure ongoing course quality.
Share best teaching practices and maintain up-to-date discipline knowledge.
Develop a strong profile in teaching and learning scholarship or pedagogical research.
Pursue external funding opportunities and contribute to discipline-relevant research.
Publish in high-quality outlets and build national disciplinary recognition.
Demonstrate leadership aligned with UQ values.
Build and maintain strong external partnerships.
Contribute to School priorities, committee service, and academic collaboration.
