At the Department of Population Health we work to understand the practice of preventing disease, prolonging life and promoting the health of entire populations and population sub-groups. This is a key goal in Aotearoa New Zealand to reduce health inequalities. The Department also teaches undergraduate medical students in their clinical years (years 4-6) and also offers a variety of postgraduate programmes in public health. Research students are supervised for Masters and PhD degrees.

The Role
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Population Health to join our Christchurch campus. This is a full-time, permanent (confirmation path) position. In this role you will be required to:
• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students;
• Participate in research studies and contribute to the development of new research projects;
• Supervise research for Masters and PhD students; and
• Be actively engaged with the University and participate in various committees.

Your Skills and Experience
• Qualifications should include a PhD as well as a Postgraduate Diploma and Masters in Public Health.
• Broad Public Health expertise.
• Demonstrated teaching experience.
• Experience in epidemiology or health economics preferred.
• An established research area with evidence of research funding.
• A publication record commensurate with the position.
• Experience in supervising Masters and PhD students.
