Position Overview

The Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI) and the Department of Medical Imaging at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, invite applications for a full-time Academic Head and Neck Radiologist to join the newly established Division of Head and Neck Imaging—the first dedicated division of its kind in Canada.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a growing specialty within one of the largest academic imaging departments in the country, with primary sites including UHN, SHS, and Women’s College Hospital.

The successful candidate must be eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. Start date: July 1, 2026, or a mutually agreed date.


Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

  • Provide expert interpretation of complex head and neck imaging.
  • Support multidisciplinary cancer care models alongside surgeons, oncologists, and radiation medicine teams.
  • Participate in after-hours coverage (1:4 call model).
  • Engage in multidisciplinary tumor boards (e.g., HN MCC, Thyroid MCC, OFMS, Orbit, Skull Base).

Academic and Research Duties

  • Conduct research and scholarly activity, including original publications and collaborative projects.
  • Supervise and mentor residents, fellows, and trainees.
  • Contribute to the growth of the division and assume potential leadership roles.

Required Qualifications

  • MD or equivalent degree.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Diagnostic Radiology (RCPSC or equivalent).
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Ontario.
  • Completion of at least one year of dedicated Head and Neck Imaging fellowship in a high-volume cancer center.
  • Active involvement in head and neck research, with peer-reviewed publications or clinical audits.
  • Strong clinical skills interpreting CT and MRI of the head and neck, particularly oncologic imaging.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Prior Canadian clinical experience preferred, particularly in academic or oncology settings.

Salary: Exceeds $200,000 CAD per annum, commensurate with rank, qualifications, and experience.
