The Opportunity

The Faculty of Engineering is seeking to appoint an outstanding emerging or established academic that will become the next generation of Renewable Energy Engineering leaders. This position will provide critical capability to our world leading Resources Engineering program. Addressing the issue of our reliance on fossil fuels, identifying, and developing alternative sustainable systems for electricity generation. To tackle this societal problem Monash is seeking academic staff with the drive, capability and commitment to deliver change across all levels.

This is a great opportunity for an academic to join the Faculty of Engineering in a joint capacity between the Department of Civil Engineering and the Department of Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering. Renewable energy is an emerging discipline at Monash and we are looking for an outstanding researcher and teacher who is just as passionate about alternative energy options as we are.

In your new role at Monash, you will have a particular focus on Solar Energy, working towards shaping the future of Resources education within the Faculty of Engineering. We are looking for an academic that specialises in the areas of Renewable Energy, particularly in the areas of:

  • Solar Photovoltaics
  • Solar Thermal Technologies
  • Integration of Solar Energy into the broader Electricity Grid
