The Division of Science and Engineering at Penn State University Abington College is seeking a non-tenure-track Assistant Teaching Professor or Lecturer of Mathematics to start in August of 2020. This is a nine-month appointment with excellent fringe benefits that include retirement plans, health, dental, vision, and prescription drug insurance, reduced tuition rates for dependents, and optional long-term disability insurance. The review process will begin February 24th and continue until the positions are filled. Minimum qualification is a Ph.D. in mathematics, statistics, or physics, or an MS degree in any of these fields plus at least five years of experience teaching at the college undergraduate level. The successful candidate will be expected to: 1) teach 12 contact hours per semester covering a spectrum of undergraduate mathematics courses including calculus, matrices, differential equations, and discrete math; 2) act as an academic advisor to a variety of science and engineering majors; and 3) provide service to the Division and College. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in teaching students from diverse ethnic, racial, and socio-economic backgrounds.
