Duties and responsibilities
  • Teaching of qualitative research methods (if possible, quantitative research methods) at all levels of higher education, using modern teaching methods and educational technology, supervising primarily students of the first and second level of higher education.
  • Participation in research, development and creative activities under the supervision of a professor or associate professor.
  • Internationally recognised research in five years at least in the volume equivalent to that of 2/3 doctoral theses (in case of 1.0 work load; in case of part-time work load the required research work will be adjusted proportionally).
Required qualifications
PhD or an equivalent qualification.
Required experience
  • Earlier experience of teaching in higher education institution and the knowledge of qualitative research methods.
  • Lecturer must be competent to conduct research in his/her specialisation under the supervision of a professor or associate professor.
  • It is recommended to have experience in the supervision of students and international experience.
  • In addition to the knowledge of the qualitative research methods it is recommended to have knowledge and teaching experience of quantitative research methods (statistics and/or econometrics).
Required language skills
English language (fluent in both written and oral communication). It is recommended to have knowledge in the Estonian language at the level sufficient for teaching in higher education institution. According to the Language Act, academic staff with foreign citizenship working in Estonia must have acquired at least B1-level Estonian language skills after five years of work. The Centre for Professional Development offers foreigners and their family members the opportunity to participate in Estonian language courses.
