What You Will Do
We invite applications for a Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer position in Forensic Psychology (equivalent to a tenured Assistant or Associate Professor in the US System). The level of appointment will depend on the successful candidate’s relevant experience.
 
Your research will complement the School’s present research activities. You will contribute to teaching in the areas of forensic psychology and quantitative methods. You will also be encouraged to develop a strong, externally-funded research programme as well as be expected to collaborate with other academics in the School’s teaching and research activities. The appointee will also be expected to develop links with and contribute to the wider forensic profession at local, national, and international levels.

Who You Are
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in Psychology (or a closely aligned discipline) by the start of the position, and have a demonstrated record of published research. It is expected that, in addition to a background in forensic psychology, the candidates will demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of contemporary research methods, and strong quantitative skills (experience working with large datasets is desirable). The successful candidate will have a commitment to excellence in teaching of core courses in forensic psychology at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, delivering effective teaching methods that enable a wide range of learners to succeed. The appointee will also demonstrate an interest in supervising final year undergraduate projects, Masters, and Ph.D. students, along with an interest in contributing to School, College, and University activities.

Who You Will Work With
The School of Psychology, Speech and Hearing | Te Kura Mahi ā-Hirikapo has recently been created by joining the two former Departments of Psychology and Communication Disorders and will include an estimated total of 802 equivalent full-time students and approximately 66 full-time equivalent staff. The school offers courses in Psychology from introductory psychology to PhD level, including nationally and internationally recognised applied programmes in Clinical Psychology and in Industrial & Organisational Psychology. The school also offers accredited programmes in speech-language therapy and audiology. This role will teach in psychology courses, but will encouraged to collaborate across disciplines in the School and in the University, as is relevant.
