Are you passionate about teaching research methods and statistics, and interested in empirical research questions that communication scientists face every day? Due to the global popularity of our Communication Science Bachelor and Master degree programmes, the Department of Communication Science is looking for several lecturers (D3) who can support our social-scientific research methods and statistics education.
The Department of Communication Science studies communication from a social and behavioral perspective. Research and teaching focuses broadly in 4 thematic areas: political communication and journalism; entertainment communication; persuasive communication; and corporate communication. While qualitative methods are featured in our research and teaching, quantitative methodologies are particularly pronounced. Inasmuch, our education in our Bachelor and Master programme heavily features quantitative methods and analytic training so that our students are equipped to answer the most pressing communication science questions.
With more than 2,400 undergraduate and graduate students, Communication Science is among the largest departments at the University of Amsterdam with an outstanding international reputation. The College of Communication and the Graduate School of Communication offer a Bachelor program, including a minor track Communication in the Digital Society, a Master program, a European joint degree program in Journalism and a Research Master, the only of its kind in the Netherlands. The teaching in our Communication Science program is interdisciplinary and internationally oriented.
