We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer, Senior Lecturer or Reader in Sustainability & Environmental Chemistry, as part of our ongoing investment and expansion in research excellence. You will be expected to develop an innovative teaching and research portfolio in Sustainability & Environmental Chemistry, publishing world-class research that will lead to a successful externally funded research program supporting postdoctoral research staff and PhD students, and establishing links with industry. In addition to teaching postgraduate and undergraduate students you will perform the normal administrative duties expected of a member of academic staff. 

About You

You will hold a PhD in Chemistry. Physics, Biochemistry or or closely related discipline, and / or relevant professional qualification and / or equivalent professional experience with an excellent track record of research in sustainability and or environmental chemistry and will be expected to be committed to the delivery of high-quality teaching at postgraduate and undergraduate levels.

About The Chemistry Department

The Chemistry Department has recently seen a £5.5M investment in its Joseph Priestley Chemistry building, including a new state-of-the-art chemistry laboratory. The Department hosts a number of facilities, including 600MHz NMR, X-ray facilities, high-resolution mass spectrometry and analytical facilities.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is a full time, indefinite post, with an expected start date of September 2022. The salary will be Grade 5-6, in the range of £43,069 - £53,625 per annum for Lecturer and Grade 7, in the range of £56,678 - £63,351 per annum for Senior Lecturer/Reader inclusive of London Allowance.
