About the Position

We are seeking a PhD candidate to join the Petr Těšina Research Group at CEITEC MU. The project focuses on the structural study of ribosomal complexes involved in human translation control.

The successful candidate will have access to state-of-the-art cryo-EM instruments, receive comprehensive training in cryo-EM techniques, and work in a lab supported by ERC Starting Grant and EMBO Installation Grant funding.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on human ribosomal complexes

  • Perform experiments using structural biology, biochemistry, and molecular biology techniques

  • Analyze data and contribute to publications

  • Collaborate with team members in a multidisciplinary environment


Candidate Profile

Must-Have:

  • MSc or equivalent degree (preferably in Life Sciences)

  • Strong interest in structural biology

  • Experience with structural biology, biochemistry, or molecular biology methods

  • Strong English communication skills (spoken and written)

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with human cell cultures

  • Programming skills

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Motivation and a collaborative mindset
