Chair for Private Law, Comparative Law and Private International Law (Prof Dr Helmut Heiss)


The Chair headed by Prof Heiss is offering a position as a PhD candidate in the SNSF project on “Principles of Reinsurance Contract Law (PRICL)”. Lead together with the University of Frankfurt am Main and conducted in cooperation with Unidroit (International Institute for the Unification of Private Law), the aim of the project is to draft international Principles of Reinsurance Contract Law (PRICL). For this purpose, an international research network made up of academics from countries with leading insurance sectors and from various legal families has been established.

Requirements / Qualifications

- Master of Law or equivalent academic degree 
- ability to work independently 
- knowledge of insurance law advantageous

Language Skills

Fluency in German and English - Knowledge of other

Special Requirements

- PhD thesis on a topic related to the PRICL project
- Legal research
- Organisational tasks connected with the PRICL project, in particular the organisation of workshops
- Scientific documentation of the PRICL project
