PhD Fellow in Molecular Magnetic Materials

University of Copenhagen Department of Chemistry

PhD Fellow in Molecular Magnetic Materials

Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science at University of Copenhagen is offering two PhD scholarships in Molecular Magnetic Materials commencing 01.06.2021 (position PhD1), 01.09.2021 (position PhD2), or as soon as possible thereafter.

The positions are available in the Inorganic Chemistry section. The Inorganic Chemistry section carries out fundamental experimental and theoretical work, in inorganic chemistry.

Project description

The first PhD project (PhD1) will investigate the potential of heterodinuclear lanthanide coordination complexes as bimodal Magnetic Resonance / Near InfraRed imaging agents. The second PhD project (PhD2) will investigate the potential of lanthanide coordination complexes to be used as physical support for the implementation of Quantum Information Processing protocols. Both PhD projects concern experimental and theoretical studies within molecular magnetic materials

Principal supervisor is Associate Professor, Stergios Piligkos, Department of Chemistry, E-mail:, Direct Phone: +45 35 32 01 18.
