The Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at the University of Alberta invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in the area of computational mathematics. The start date of the position is July 1, 2025. We offer an excellent research environment with a normal teaching load of 2.5 courses per year. The successful candidate will establish their own research program, supervise graduate students, and teach mathematics at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Applicants must have a PhD degree in applied mathematics or a closely related field completed prior to the start date of this position. They should demonstrate significant achievements and outstanding promise in research in the areas of numerical analysis and computational mathematics. A strong commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching is essential. We particularly encourage candidates who are focused on developing and analyzing advanced numerical methods and efficient algorithms, bridging theoretical foundations with computational innovation and practical applications, to apply.
