Our lab is interested in understanding the biology of the neurovascular unit in health and disease.

Your responsibilities

The aim of this project is to determine the molecular composition of endothelial-pericyte contacts of brain vasculature and to investigate how these cell-cell contacts regulate the blood-brain barrier properties in neuroinflammation.

Your profile

We are looking for a motivated and an independent PhD student. Applicants should hold a masters degree in life sciences. An experience with mouse handling and breeding transgenic mouse lines is a plus. Techniques will include confocal and light sheet microscopy, cloning, cell culture, protein purification for a LC-MS/MS analysis, flow cytometry.

The PhD position is funded by the Swiss Multiple Sclerosis Society. We offer varied work in an international environment. Zürich University has excellent core facilities providing support in a wide array of research fields. The successful candidate will participate in the Zürich Neuroscience Centrum (ZNZ) doctoral program and will receive a PhD from the Faculty of Science at the University of Zurich.
