Posting Summary

The chemistry department is seeking a postdoctoral associate to work on computational toxicology research projects funded by NIH that develop data-driven predictive chemical toxicity models. Based at Rutgers University-Camden in New Jersey, the Zhu team has access to outstanding computational facilities and excellent opportunities for career development. The Rutger Center of Computational and Integrative Biology (CCIB) have super computer clusters available for data curation, management and analysis. The recruited postdoc will have close collaboration opportunities with CCIB faculty members in the field of biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics and physics.

The project is aiming to develop novel data-driven modeling approaches to evaluate the toxicity potentials of compounds. The focus will be on Drug Induced Liver Injury (DILI) and the toxicity pathways relevant to hepatotoxicity of animals.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in chemistry/toxicology or a related natural science field. Fellows should be highly motivated and hard-working scientists capable of effectively working on independent and team projects. Excellent programming skills with at least one of the popular languages (C++, Python, Java or others) are required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
