Department of Chemistry
Post-doctoral Position in Coordination Chemistry and Catalysis
70 %
A postdoc position is available in Dr. Ilija Čorić's research group at the Department of Chemistry.
Our group performs research in the areas of organic and inorganic chemistry aiming at the development of advanced methods for homogeneous catalysis. We explore fundamental transition metal chemistry as well as challenging reactions in organic synthesis and small molecule activation. Our goal is to advance the way molecules are made by enabling selective activation of strong chemical bonds in mild conditions. Specific areas of interest include: C-H activation, novel activation modes for catalysis, chemistry of multimetallic complexes and design of chiral catalysts. Please find further information on our group's website.
Your responsibilities
The postdoctoral associate position will focus on coordination chemistry and catalysis. The research will include design and multistep synthesis of new ligands, synthesis of transition-metal complexes and catalysis.
Your profile
Candidates must hold a Master's (MSc or equivalent) degree and a PhD (or equivalent) in chemistry. Successful candidates will be ambitious, creative and highly motivated, with an outstanding record of academic achievement. Essential requirements are:
First class Bachelor's and Master's degrees (or equivalent qualifications) in chemistry
PhD in synthetic chemistry
Excellent English language skills (written and oral)
An excellent record of productivity as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications
Advantageous prior experiences include: coordination chemistry, synthesis and characterization of highly sensitive transition metal complexes, multistep organic synthesis, synthesis in inert conditions, computational chemistry.
