Position Overview

The Medical Faculty of Masaryk University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in the field of Dental Development and Regeneration.

The successful candidate will focus on understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms governing tissue micro- and macropatterning, as well as soft- and hard-tissue regeneration and repair. The research will integrate developmental biology, stem cell niche dynamics, growth control, mechanobiology, and tissue regeneration, using advanced experimental approaches.


Research Environment

The Jan Křivánek Research Group provides:

  • State-of-the-art methodologies: single-cell RNA-sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, lineage tracing, conditional knockouts, genetically modified models, advanced imaging (confocal, light sheet, super-resolution microscopy), electron microscopy, nano/micro-CT, mathematical modeling.

Candidate Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Ph.D. or equivalent (awarded within the past 7 years), with at least 2 years of research experience outside the Czech Republic within the last 3 years (≥0.5 FTE)

  • Alternatively, Ph.D. from an international institution awarded within the past 3 years

  • Publication record: minimum of 3 research outputs in the past 3 years, with at least 2 Q1 papers (Web of Science)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in developmental biology and basic research

  • Experience with in vivo research (lab animals)

  • Expertise in imaging and image processing techniques

  • Strong scientific writing skills

  • High level of independence, self-organization, and proactive research approach

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
