The Institute of Evolution and Ecology is seeking a

Postdoctoral Academic Associate in marine fish ecology (m/f/d, E 13 TV-L, 100%)

The Animal Evolutionary Ecology group interactions between marine fish species. For experiments and data collection, we have a local saltwater aquarium facility and spend 6-8 weeks per year in the field (Mediterranean, Red Sea, Indo-Pacific).

The successful candidate has a PhD in marine fish biodiversity, ecology, behaviour or morphology, with a strong field component. She/he is expected to develop a high-profile research programme. The position comes with a teaching obligation of 120 h/year and includes supervision of student projects. Teaching is expected to be in English and can involve marine field courses. Well-qualified and experienced SCUBA divers are preferred candidates.

The position is fulltime and limited to three years with an optional prolongation of three years. The pay grade classification E13 refers to the German federal public service scale (TV-L). Disabled candidates will be given preference over other equally qualified applicants.
