The Department of Cell Biology is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to join a project in the lab of Nicole Scott-Hewitt.
PhD in Neurobiology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field
Expertise in experimental design and quantitative data analysis
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail, ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills
Strong understanding of laboratory safety and best practices
Familiarity with standard laboratory equipment and software
This position is onsite. Work is performed on-site or at a designated assignment location.
Minimum one-year appointment, contingent upon satisfactory annual reviews
Salary is commensurate with NIH guidelines and applicant experience
Position located at Duke University School of Medicine, Durham, NC
Design and perform experiments and collect/analyze data related to research project in the Scott-Hewitt Laboratory
Keep proper records of experiments and results per Scott-Hewitt Lab and Duke University SOPs
Present data in lab meetings and departmental seminars
Demonstrate commitment to training and career advancement
Show intellectual leadership and significant contribution to own and other scientific projects in the lab
Contribute to the training and advancement of graduate students and other lab personnel
Write fellowship applications as appropriate for career development
