Designs and executes complex research ideas taking advantage of advanced computational biology and bioinformatics techniques. Analyses high-throughput sequencing data at tissue and single-cell resolutions, performs comprehensive literature review, and develops analysis results for research papers. Collaborates with internal and external experimental experts/computer scientists. Writes scientific manuscripts, fellowship and training grant applications under the guidance of Dr. Yang. Manages lab servers and Github repositories for the lab. Teaches and trains students and technicians on computational pipelines and algorithms.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Education and Experience
Requires a PhD degree in biomedical sciences, biomedical engineering, statistics, mathematics or computer science, with relevant research experience in computational biology or bioinformatics. Good communication skills. Collaborative spirits. Strong work ethic. The position demands a basic understanding of single-cell data analysis.
Certifications/Licenses  
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Prefers experience working with high-throughput sequencing data/single-cell data, and solid understanding of molecular biology/cancer biology/physiology.
Equipment Utilized
High-performance computing clusters, LINUX system, relevant Python and R packages.

Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees, Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
