Position Description
We are inviting applications for a postdoctoral fellowship position. The prospective postdoctoral fellow will work with faculty and students conducting research on health care markets, policy and regulation. During the one or two-year fellowship, the fellow will work with faculty on ongoing research focused on a range of issues including insurance markets, drug pricing, provider pricing, vertical integration of healthcare organizations, and regulation of health care markets. The fellow will also have time for their own complementary research, and we will facilitate access to our data sources in support of their research. The fellow will be supervised by Professor Leemore Dafny.
Appointment Start Date: July 1, 2026
Renewal: Renewable for a second year based on mutual agreement.
Basic Qualifications
Applicants must have:
- A Ph.D. in economics, public policy or a closely related field.
- All degree requirements satisfied prior to the fellowship start date.
- A Ph.D. obtained no more than five years before the fellowship start date.
- Strong analytical and programming skills.
- Preferably completed graduate industrial organization courses in an Economics department.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build trust and collaboration through direct onsite engagement with colleagues and constituents.
Important Notice
If you have obtained your Ph.D. in the past 12 months you must be able to provide:
- A certificate of completion from the degree-granting institution, OR
- A letter from the institution’s Registrar stating all requirements for the degree have been successfully completed and verifying the date the degree has been conferred.
No exceptions.

- Possibility of renewal based on funding and performance

Work Arrangement
This role is offered as a hybrid position (onsite and remote combination).
The selected candidate is required to be onsite at the Boston, MA campus. Specific workdays and schedule will be determined with the manager.
Interviews for selected candidates will be conducted virtually via phone and/or Zoom.
