Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Chemistry (Ref.: 508119), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry with a strong background and experience in photochemistry, time-resolved ultrafast spectroscopy, small molecule synthesis, and nanoparticle preparation.  Knowledge of Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS), Polarization Modulation-Infrared Reflection-Adsorption Spectroscopy (PM-IRRAS), Attenuated Total Reflection Fourier Transform IR (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy, and microfabrication is a plus.  Applicants should have proficiency in written and spoken English, a strong sense of responsibility, good organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.  The appointee will work on the research project which aims at increasing the energy conversion efficiency and quantum yield of photo-electro-chemical devices.  He/She is expected to gain new insights into how small molecules and nanoparticles behave at complex boundaries through the use of photophysical and photochemical means.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
