The Department of Chemistry consists of a well-rounded research community with cutting-edge expertise in a wide variety of modern disciplines including analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, materials chemistry, and biochemistry.

Job Summary:

The Thielges lab at Indiana University is seeking to hire a Postdoctoral Scholar with a strong interest in the molecular biophysics of protein function. Our lab focuses on elucidating mechanisms of enzyme catalysis and/or electron transfer between proteins, with a focus on understanding the involvement of conformational states and dynamics. As a Postdoctoral Scholar, you will play a vital role in our ongoing endeavor to develop infrared spectroscopy as a powerful tool for characterizing proteins with high spatial and temporal resolution. In this position, your responsibilities will include engineering and expressing proteins, designing, and implementing spectroscopic experiments, analyzing data, and communicating project findings through presentations and publications.

Basic Qualifications
To be successful in this position, you should possess a Ph.D. in a relevant field, a strong background in molecular biophysics, and experience in protein characterization techniques. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in spectroscopic methods, data analysis, and scientific programming will be advantageous. You should have enthusiasm for spectroscopy, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
