The University of Pennsylvania invites applications for one postdoctoral position in the Program for Research on Men’s Health. This fellowship focuses on men’s health equity, examining the intersection of men’s health and health equity to achieve optimal well-being and social justice for men in the U.S. and globally.
The Program collaborates with Global Action on Men’s Health, the Equimundo MenCare Changemaker Journey, and the Movember Foundation, among others, to build capacity and impact in men’s health research and advocacy. Examples of collaborations include the MenCare Changemaker Journey and the Real Face of Men’s Health 2025 United States Report.
The fellowship aims to train scholars to strengthen research competencies in:
Men’s health and men’s health equity
Health equity and health justice
Population health and well-being
Multilevel intervention strategies
Global literature and expertise
Historical and humanities context in men’s health
Policy education and advocacy
Academic and non-academic dissemination of research
Effective collaboration across communities
The fellow will work directly with leaders from partner organizations on research projects and initiatives.
Duration: 2 years (beginning August 2026; 1-year renewable for a second year)
Salary: $70,000 + health insurance
Relocation/moving expenses: $3,000 (position may be remote)
Discretionary funds: $15,000 (over the 2-year period)

The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct and disseminate research aligned with the Program’s goals and values. Responsibilities include publishing dissertation findings, collaborating on manuscripts and projects with Dr. Griffith and partner organizations, and developing new research initiatives.
Assume primary responsibility for the development of their research and career
Collaborate with the mentoring team to develop a mentoring and career development plan
Conduct rigorous and ethical research in accordance with institutional and federal regulations
Work collegially and cooperatively with faculty mentors and co-workers
PhD in social science, behavioral science, nursing, public health, or related areas
Interest in pursuing an academic career or a career emphasizing scholarly research, particularly programmatic or policy intervention research
