The Institute of Psychology at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen is looking to fill a

Postdoctoral Position in Affective Neuroscience and Psychophysiology (all genders welcome)

This position should be filled by November 1st, 2020. The position is full time (currently 39,8 hours per week) with a time-limited initial contract of 3 years, with the possibility of an extension for another 3 years. The salary will be according to pay grade 13 TV-L.

The Affective Neuroscience and Psychophysiology Laboratory (ANaPLab), led by Prof. Dr. Annekathrin Schacht, mainly focuses its research activities on the interplay of emotion, motivation, and cognition in several domains of human information processing. It combines well-established experimental paradigms with expertise in a wide range of psychophysiological measures, including event-related brain potentials (ERPs), eye movements, EMG, and peripheral indicators (EDA, pupilometrics). The postdoctoral researcher will work in a highly motivated international team and will have room for personal research interests within the general scope of the lab. Candidates must possess a strong research interest in human perception and cognition in the context of social interactions. In addition to research, duties will include teaching courses (4 hrs/week) as defined in Section 31 of the Higher Education Act of Lower Saxony (NHG) and supervising students (BSc, MSc and PhD).

Ideal candidates should have a PhD in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a closely related field, and should document their research experience with publications in peer-reviewed journals. We are looking for a passionate researcher with strong skills in measuring and analyzing psychophysiological data, a strong interest in systems neuroscience and excellent programming skills. Excellent spoken and written English is required; good command of German is recommended.
