Lab Mission: Understanding molecular mechanisms behind retinal development and disease using human pluripotent stem cells.
Specialization:
Retinal organoids (“eye-like” organoids)
Photoreceptor biology
Retinal disease modeling
Key Areas:
Differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells into retinal tissues
Retinal disease modeling
Role of non-coding RNAs in retinal development
Light-regulated pathways in retinal cells
Advanced techniques: single-cell RNA sequencing, light-sheet microscopy
Education: PhD in cell biology, molecular biology, or related field
Experience:
≥2 years of research work outside Czech Republic within last 3 years (≥0.5 FTE), or PhD from international institution within past 3 years
Publications: Minimum of 3 research outputs in last 3 years, ≥2 in Q1 journals
Technical Skills:
Stem cell culture and differentiation (retinal models preferred)
Molecular biology techniques (PCR, western blotting, immunofluorescence)
Strong foundation in molecular biology and biochemistry
Soft Skills: Strong motivation, organizational skills, teamwork
