Position: Postdoctoral Researcher – Climate Adaptation and Green Transition in Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland)

Start Date: February 1, 2026 (or as soon as possible thereafter)
Duration: 22 months
Project: LIQUIDICE – Horizon Europe project on impacts of climate change on snow, ice, permafrost, water resources, and society (https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/101184962)
Location: Greenland and Denmark
Focus on citizen engagement, public resistance, democratic participation, and green energy transitions (e.g., hydropower) in Arctic communities.
Study local climate adaptation strategies, hydropower practices, and societal impacts of changing cryosphere-derived water resources.
Collaborate with natural scientists and international research consortium partners across Europe and India.
PhD in Arctic Studies, social sciences, or humanities.
Strong interdisciplinary research skills.
Expertise in climate adaptation, renewable energy, and/or policy studies.
Experience with stakeholder engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Proficiency in English; knowledge of Greenlandic (Kalaallisut) or a Scandinavian language is an advantage.
Conduct independent research aligned with LIQUIDICE WP4.2.
Collaborate with consortium partners and contribute to interdisciplinary research.
Engage with local communities and stakeholders in Greenland.
Disseminate research findings through publications and outreach activities.
