Position: Postdoctoral Researcher – SPINE Project: Interdisciplinary Collaboration in Academia

SPINE (Strengthening Pathways and Infrastructures for Navigating Interdisciplinary Collaboration) investigates practical ways to support interdisciplinary research in existing academic structures.
Activities include international fieldwork, participatory action research, development of practical tools for interdisciplinary collaboration (methods, games, templates, simulations).
Work closely with PI, PhD students, master’s students, and the other postdoc.
PhD in a relevant field (completed at the time of appointment).
Experience with ethnographic fieldwork and qualitative data analysis.
Able to work independently and collaboratively.
Willing to travel internationally for fieldwork (1 week – 1 month per trip).
Strong communication skills (written and oral).
Desired: knowledge of interdisciplinary higher education, participatory/co-design methods, teaching/facilitation experience, producing policy-relevant outputs.
Conduct international ethnographic fieldwork (observations, interviews, focus groups).
Participate in participatory action research with stakeholders.
Develop, test, and refine practical tools for interdisciplinary collaboration.
Contribute to literature reviews, analytical frameworks, and publications.
Disseminate findings via conferences, workshops, and policy-relevant outputs.
Optionally participate in teaching within the Department of Science Education.
