The Adjunct Faculty role will provide support to Purdue University Global’s School of Nursing.

Job Summary
Purdue University Global offers term-by-term, non-tenured teaching appointments to qualified individuals who are dedicated to providing quality educational experiences to students in Associate’s, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degree programs. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals to work in a professional learning community wherein faculty contribute to and engage in instructional best practices for adult learners in an innovative, nontraditional university setting.
Provide a student-centered learning environment that enables students to attain success. Maintain program and course outcomes to ensure appropriate workplace skill levels for graduates. Deliver meaningful and substantive instruction throughout the course.
Report concerns regarding student academic progress to Success Coaches or Academic Advisors, as appropriate. Refer students with questions regarding financial aid, academics, attendance, and personal concerns to the appropriate departments.
Actively assist the University in retention and outreach efforts, including contacting students who are not engaged or are absent, as required by department or campus guidelines.
Maintain open and timely communication with students and the university via Purdue Global email. Report student behavioral or Code of Student Conduct issues.
Participate in institutional assessment and assist Chairs and Deans in developing and implementing new programs as assigned.
Attend and participate in faculty meetings and continuous improvement sessions. Serve on university committees as assigned.
Stay current with trends, techniques, and advances in technology applicable to the program. Incorporate creative instructional strategies and learning activities.
Maintain and submit accurate and timely reports for student grades.
Follow university style and branding guidelines for all student materials, ensuring accessibility standards are met.
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required
Doctorate preferred
Higher education teaching experience preferred
Active and unencumbered United States registered nursing license required
Exceptional computer skills using Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Connect meeting technology
Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision
Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills with individuals at all levels within the organization
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Adjunct compensation varies per course based on student enrollment and program type, and includes a contribution to a retirement account. A typical adjunct in the School of Nursing can expect to receive $3,300 per full 10-week course.
Retirement benefits include an automatic 403(b) company contribution of 3% and a company match up to an additional 4%, with participation in an optional 457(b) plan.
