Subject Area
- Atmospheric aerosol particle research
- Analysis of long-term aerosol datasets to evaluate relationships between aerosol properties and land-use origin or meteorological parameters
- Use of source apportionment, air mass back trajectories, and machine-learning tools
- Evaluation of model sensitivities and performance (Earth system models, dynamic vegetation models, aerosol process models)
Work Duties
- Conduct high-quality research (primary focus)
- Analyze long-term datasets from Hyltemossa and Norunda field sites
- Assess land-use and meteorological effects on aerosols
- Compare model outputs with observational data; propose updated parameterizations
- Prepare scientific publications and attend project meetings and conferences
- Optional teaching: up to 20% of working hours
- Three weeks of higher education teaching training provided
Note: The position does not involve running models, new measurements, or model development
Qualification Requirements
- PhD or equivalent international degree in atmospheric sciences, physics, environmental science, or related field
- Degree certificate must be obtained before employment decision
- Priority for degrees completed within 3 years; older degrees considered under special circumstances
Additional Requirements:
- Very good oral and written proficiency in English
- Comprehensive knowledge of aerosols
- Experience with large datasets, data analysis, and programming
- Independent, structured, proactive, and collaborative
