The Department of Management Studies of Aalto University School of Business seeks applications for a two-year position as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Organizational Communication, starting September 1, 2019 at the latest.

The Department of Management Studies comprises several very competitive groups of researchers who publish in leading management and organization studies journals. The department has a lively, international research community with numerous doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers from several countries. The working language at the department is English. The post-doctoral researcher will be working on a new research project that focuses on experience design, broadly defined. The postdoctoral researcher is expected to participate in a) theoretically framing the project; 2) collecting empirical data for the project; and 3) publishing the results of the project in leading academic journals.

We seek to hire an academically ambitious junior scholar who is completing or has recently completed their Ph.D. in organizational communication or a related discipline. We prefer candidates that demonstrate great potential for conducting high quality research and for publishing in the leading academic journals of the field of organization and management studies.

Extensive experience in qualitative research (e.g. organizational ethnography, discourse analysis) is a necessary requirement for the position. Moreover, excellent English language skills and sufficient Finnish language skills are required.

The researcher hired in the project is also expected to spend some of the working time on his/her own ongoing research projects. The majority of the time is allocated for work on the project providing the funding.

The maximum teaching load in the position is one course per year. In addition, the postdoctoral researcher is expected to be willing to serve as PhD thesis advisor for one of the PhD students of the unit of Organizational Communication, as a junior member of an Ph.D. advisory committee.
