Full-time, fixed term position for 12 months

Support the improvement of global health outcomes as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI)

Based in the Synthesis Science Division of JBI, the Postdoctoral Research Fellow will focus on methods and methodologies involved in the evaluation, analysis and collation of research evidence and opinion, primarily through the conduct of systematic reviews as well as other methods of synthesis.

The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will be involved in identifying funding schemes, applying for grant opportunities and if successful, play a key role in the conduct and reporting of the designated work. You will also support the work of JBI’s official peer-reviewed online journal, JBI Evidence Synthesis, by contributing to the review of manuscripts as well as other relevant initiatives.

JBI is an independent, international, not-for-profit research and development organisation in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. JBI is concerned with improving health outcomes in communities globally by promoting and supporting the use of the best available evidence to inform decisions made in health policy and practice.

To be successful you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant area, and/or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in the conduct, reporting and publication (refereed journal) of systematic reviews.
  • Experience in applying for competitive research funding.
  • Proven experience in the successful completion of research consultancy/commissioned projects.
  • Experience as a peer reviewer for high quality, refereed journals.
