About This Opportunity
An opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow/Research Fellow is to work directly with Associate Professor Margie Wright on a longitudinal neuroimaging genomics study of factors affecting adolescent brain, emotional, and cognitive development. You'll gain highly regarded exposure in
- managing large imaging datasets that will contribute towards the research project. These include data currently being collected in adolescents and open-access databases from the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study and other major neuroimaging initiatives.
- analytical decision making with the ability to apply technical innovation to research problems
- supervising or co-supervising research students in relevant areas, including research assistants involved in the project
Our Ideal Candidate
- For appointment at level A: PhD in a relevant field (e.g. neuroimaging, quantitative genetics)
- For appointment at level B: At least two years relevant post-doctoral experience (or equivalent) and evidence of specialist expertise in one or more relevant fields
- Evidence of research productivity, including publications and conference presentations (relative to opportunity)
- Experience using major imaging statistics techniques such as FreeSurfer, FSL, SPM, etc
- Knowledge of fundamental brain MRI data analysis problems, including registration, tissue segmentation, noise removal, etc
- Experience with securing funding for research projects in a University or similar environment

What We Can Offer
This is a full-time, fixed term position (1 to 2 years) The appointment will be made at either Academic level A or B; depending on qualification and experience.
- Research Academic level A, the base salary will be in the range $67,542 - $90,982, plus super of up to 17% (The total package will be in the range $79,024 - $106,448)
- Research Academic level B, the base salary will be in the range $95,771 - $113,728, plus super of up to 17% (The total package will be in the range $112,052 - $133,061)
