Postdoctoral Researcher in Work & Organisational Psychology
100 %

The Professorship of Applied Team Science (ATS) at the University of Zurich's Department of Psychology invites applications for one postdoctoral researcher (4 years). The position is part of the SNF (Swiss National Science Foundation) funded research project "Teamwork Under Pressure: Effective Team Processes During Extreme Events".

We at the ATS lab study teams that often deal with extreme events (e.g., healthcare teams, firefighters, military teams and others) as well as teams working and living in extreme contexts like Antarctica. We aim to improve the scientific understanding of how teams successfully deal with challenging situations and translate this knowledge into practice to advance leaders, teams, and organisations.

To reach our goals, we conduct internationally recognised studies applying a multi-method approach. Our research combines perspectives from applied psychology, management, and organisational behavior. We observe teams in the field and experimental settings using quantitative and qualitative research methods.

In your project, you will perform field and lab studies to investigate how teams successfully deal with adverse events. You will investigate how teams can potentially counteract the adverse effects of high-pressure situations on team functioning. In your work, you'll research, among others, concepts like team reflexivity, leader inclusiveness or team decision-making.

We are looking for candidates that are passionate about investigating teams in the field and collaborating closely with various industry partners. Research will be conducted in close collaboration with the chair and one Ph.D. student.
