The University of Helsinki, Institute for Atmosphere and Earth System Research/Department of Forest Sciences, is looking for a

 

POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER OR A RESEARCH COORDINATOR

 

to an ESFRI Preparatory Phase project eLTER (European Long-term ecosystem, critical zone and socio-ecology research infrastructure, https://www.lter-europe.net/elter-esfri).

 

The tasks are related to e.g., planning of the financial and human resource management of the European research infrastructure in the PP project, shareholder and stakeholder interactions, internal and external communications and coordinating the national FinLTSER activities. The final tasks depend on the previous expertise of the applicant. The contract will be full-time and fixed-term, between 1st Jan 2020 to 31.12.2024. A six-month trial period takes place in the beginning of the contract.

 

We are looking for an innovative person with good networking skills and capability to work in a large, international infrastructure project. Prior knowledge on infrastructure funding and governance is important, as well as interest on long-term ecosystem research and integrated research infrastructure operations. Candidates should have a PhD in natural sciences (e.g. forest sciences, ecology, environmental sciences, physics) or social sciences (e.g. economics, sociology), and fluency in English language. Salary level follows the University general salary rules (teaching and research personnel, salary level 5-6), and will be depending of personal qualifications and prior experience on related tasks.
