The individual is expected to conduct research in the area of articular cartilage tissue engineering with applications in the musculoskeletal systems and a particular emphasis on the facet joint. Expertise in tissue engineering and histological, biochemical, and mechanical techniques is desirable. Particular skills are needed in cell culture and biofabrication. Additional work may include conducting in vivo studies and participating in the translation of cartilage tissue-engineered products. Duties will include designing experiments and conducting independent research, preparing study results for publication, and supervising/training graduate and undergraduate students in proper laboratory research techniques and record-keeping.

Requirements: Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field. Background with hands-on experience in computer-aided manufacturing is preferred but not required. Prior work with animal studies is desirable.
