The Department of Physics at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking to fill a postdoc position in the area of topological and quantum materials in nanowire and nanostructure forms. The successful candidate will lead a research program in nanofabrication and characterization of topological superconducting nanowires and 2D materials, and synthesis of nanowires and thin film multilayers. The project involves nano-fabrication using electron beam lithography, extensive low temperature and high magnetic field measurements, and synthesis of thin films and nanowires. The ideal candidate should have very good knowledge and experience in superconductivity and superconducting devices, quantum transport, and topological matters. Technical experience with epitaxial growth of thin films using laser-MBE or MBE, electron beam lithography, extensive experience in measurements of superconducting devices, and quantum transport measurements at low temperatures and high magnetic fields are strongly desired. Requirements include a Ph.D. in Physics or related field. Applications must be submitted electronically and include a cover letter, CV, and statement of research interests. Applicants should arrange for three reference letters to be submitted to indicating the appropriate job number in the subject line. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until a suitable candidate is found.
