The successful candidate wants to teach and conduct research in the field of finance. Preference wants to be given to candidates with a focus on financial intermediation; a focus on another core area of finance, eg, corporate finance, is therefore acceptable. The professorship is expected to extend and complement the research and teaching portfolio of the Finance Center. Cooperation with the other professorships at the Finance Center is expected, in particular in the field of financial intermediation.

Applicants must have an excellent research record with relevant publications in leading international academic journals in the field of finance. They must demonstrate the ability to build an international network and to apply successfully for competitive external funding. They must have a commitment.

Applicants are expected to be willing and able to teach English in the bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs. Positive student evaluations are appreciated.

The appointment is initially for four years and has a tenure track option. If the candidate meets the tenure criteria, he / she can be promoted to a tenured full professorship (W3).

Prerequisites for the application of academic achievements as a junior professor (assistant professor), in a postgraduate qualification, as a member of the academic staff of a university or non-university research institute, or in a research position in business, industry , administration or other relevant fields in Germany or abroad.
