The University invites applications for the above post, which is available from September 2025 or an alternative mutually agreed date. The post will be held in the Department of Mathematics, within the School of Natural Sciences.
Salary will be competitive within the professorial scale according to relevant experience and qualifications.
Applicants should have an established research reputation in applied mathematics, and the experience and desire to build activity at the interface between mathematics and artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science and contemporary topics in applied mathematics.
Candidates should provide a full academic CV, to which they should append:
(i) a 2-page research statement outlining their research record and future plans;
(ii) a 2-page teaching statement outlining their teaching experience, approach and philosophy. This should also include descriptions of up to three dissertation
projects (BSc, MSc) that could be offered to students.
(iii) a diversity statement (1-2 paragraphs) that describes their involvement with activities relating to equality, diversity, inclusivity and accessibility.
