The Department of Chemistry at The University of Chicago invites applications from outstanding scholars for the position of Professor of Chemistry. This search is in theoretical chemistry with an emphasis on electronic structure.

Applicants must have a Ph.D degree in chemistry or a related field and have an outstanding research record. The professor will be expected to conduct research in the field of chemistry and will be expected to submit findings for publication, and attend and present at various national and international conferences and professional meetings. The professor will also be responsible for conducting graduate and undergraduate courses in chemistry. Specifically, duties will include course preparation, review and grading of assignments, and academic advising of individual students as requested. The professor will also serve on departmental committees and contribute to departmental administrative affairs, as directed by the Chair. Appointments may be made jointly with another department or institute within the University.

Ph.D degree in chemistry or a related field
