Job description
Lund University announces a permanent position as Professor in Financial Economics. The position is full-time employment and is placed at the Department of Economics, Lund University School of Economics and Management.
The position consists of conducting own research, research leadership, teaching and supervision at the bachelor, master and PhD levels, outreach, and some administrative work. Professors are expected to actively apply for external research funding, and to engage in collaboration with colleagues, students and the surrounding society.
The position consists of actively leading and developing the financial economics area at the Department of Economics by conducting and stimulating research, nurturing the educational environment, and developing research, teaching, and engagement with society. Central tasks within the position are to develop international collaborations, to provide support to younger colleagues, to initiate and contribute to applications for research grants, and to sustain the standing of the internationally successful MSc in Finance program.
Eligibility and qualification requirements
To be eligible as a professor, the applicant needs to have shown both scientific and pedagogical skills.
In addition, according to Lund University's employment regulations, it is required for a professor to have completed at least five weeks of training in teaching and learning in higher education or to have acquired these skills in another way.
To be qualified for the position, the applicant must have a PhD degree in Finance or Economics. The applicant must have extensive research and teaching experience in financial economics and relevant subfields of finance and economics; specifically the applicant needs to have research and teaching experience in one or more of the following specializations: Asset Pricing, Derivatives and Risk Management, Financial Intermediation, Financial Stability and Credit Risk, Behavioral Finance, Household finance, and Market Microstructure.
Very good oral and written proficiency in English is a requirement.

The assessment criteria for appointment as a professor shall be the degree of expertise required as a qualification for employment (Higher Education Ordinance Chapter 4, Section 3).
