Our research
The position is based at the Global Health Section, Department of Public Health. The research and expertise of the Global Health Section cover a range of interrelated global health challenges and solutions with a strong focus on health equity, especially in low- and middle-income countries. Our current research areas include communicable and non-communicable diseases, global mental health, sexual and reproductive health and rights, humanitarian action and disaster, as well as health systems research. We place significant emphasis on transdisciplinary and inter-sectoral research involving educational-, institutional-, and/or research-capacity strengthening.
The section is primarily responsible for two educational programs; a Master of Science in Global Health and a professional Master in Disaster Management both taught in English. The Section staff also teach and supervise across the Department of Public Health and the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. The Sections is a highly interdisciplinary workplace with great focus on collegiality, teamwork, diversity, and mutual support.
Job description
We aim to hire a professor with the ability to connect research activities across academic disciplines and other stakeholders, while strengthening global health research, education and outreach at the University of Copenhagen and beyond. When considering applications for the professorship, the main emphasis will be on the applicant's ability to document original scientific work at the highest international level within the area of global health.

The position is permanent and the average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week.
Salary and other terms and conditions of appointment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant professional organisations.
The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2020.

Application procedure
After the expiry of the deadline for applications, the authorized recruitment manager selects applicants for assessment on the advice of the Appointments Committee. All applicants are then immediately notified whether their application has been passed for assessment. The Dean then appoints an expert assessment committee in order to assess the selected applicants for the specific post. Selected applicants are notified of the composition of the committee and each applicant has the opportunity to comment on the part of the assessment that relates to the applicant him/herself.
