Professorship for General Education with a Focus on Empirical Educational Research

One of the tasks is to represent the subject of general education in research and teaching. A research focus should be clearly identifiable in empirical educational research with a reference to education processes over the lifespan, preferably in the extracurricular field. It is also desirable to be part of the interdisciplinary Munich Center of the Learning Sciences. The tasks in teaching include participation in the Bachelor's Degree Program in Pedagogy / Educational Science, in the Master's Degree Program in Education with a focus on Educational Research and Educational Management, and in the Teacher Training Courses.


The Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) addresses this call for tenders in particular at highly qualified junior scientists (m / w / d), preferably educationalists (m / w / d), who have completed a university degree and a above-average doctorate or similar special ability through their achievements in research and teaching have demonstrated an extraordinary potential for a further career in science. 

The appointment takes place in the presence of the civil service requirements in a civil servant relationship for a period of six years. With a positive evaluation of professional, pedagogical and personal suitability, the temporary civil servant relationship can be converted into a civil service contract for a minimum of three years at the earliest. 

Within the framework of the LMU Academic Career Program there is the possibility of a later increase in the professorship from W2 to W3 in exceptional cases and with outstanding achievements in research and teaching.
