The professorship is being established in order to strengthen research and teaching in the research foci of the Medical Faculty (, and will be a joint appointment with the FZJ. Initially, the position will be non-tenured and based on a three-year fixed-term contract. Following a positive three year evaluation, a second fixed-term as W2 professor will be granted. This can be converted into a tenured position, given a positive evaluation at the end of the second term. In principle, the appointed professor will have the possibility of contributing to the health care services of the Institute of Human Genetics.
