Working field:
Internationally excellent research in photonic quantum networks and quantum communication, development of practical nanophotonic quantum devices, implementation of quantum key distribution protocols using non-classical light sources in free-space and fiber-coupled quantum channels, implementation of the quantum repeater protocol. The development of curricula, the participation in collaborative research and the academic administration are part of the assignment.
Requirements:
The candidate must fulfil the hiring requirements pursuant to Section 102c Berlin State Higher Education Act in combination with Section 102a Berlin State Higher Education Act. Experience in acquiring third party funding is welcomed. The applicant should have extensive competence and experience in at least three of the following research areas:
- Semiconductor nanophotonics
- Quantum light sources
- Quantum memories
- Implementation of quantum key distribution protocols
- Semiconductor and/or solid state quantum optics
- Single-photon frequency and bandwidth conversion
- Glass-fiber technology
TU Berlin expects from its professors the ability to take responsibility for leadership and strategic development of their research group and their employees. That includes activities in promoting junior and female researchers, gender and diversity competencies in the sense of diversity sensitive working and study conditions, substantial impulses in research and teaching as well as contribution to academic administration.
