The new professor will be a member of the Physics and Materials Science Research Unit. He or she will reinforce and expand the theoretical and / or computational activities of the Unit in the field of soft matter, biophysics, or other areas of condensed matter physics. He or she should be able to develop and combine innovative theoretical and computational tools (e.g statistical or machine learning methods). Synergies with existing theoretical and experimental groups in Luxembourg (for example within the Unit or with the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine) are desirable.

Your Role
  • Leading a new research group in theoretical condensed matter physics
  • Teaching physics in the Bachelor's and Master's programmes, supervision of PhD theses
  • Participation in administration and management

Your Profile
  • PhD and a minimum of three years of post-doctoral experience
  • Outstanding academic track record in research and teaching

Further Information

The University of Luxembourg is set in a multilingual context. It is desired that the successful candidate is fluent in English and has working knowledge in at least one of the two following languages: French or German. However, it is also possible to obtain proficiency in a second language after being hired. A basic knowledge of French should be acquired during the first two years.
